Kirsty advises both employers and individuals on all business immigration issues, including migrant workers’ rights to work in the UK, Sponsor obligations, Sponsor Licence applications and visa applications under Tier 1 and Tier 2.
Kirsty regularly supports a wide range of clients with recruiting specialist skills from outside the EEA and assisting with EEA applications for UK Residence and Citizenship.
As part of her expertise, Kirsty advises on conducting right to work checks and ensuring Home Office requirements for recruitment and employment of non-UK workers are met.
Kirsty is named as a notable practitioner in the Chambers Guide to the Legal Profession 2015 for her business immigration practice and "Associate to Watch" in 2016 for her immigration work, and is praised for being "sensitive, accurate and helpful".
Laura also advises on business immigration matters, including employers' obligations in relation to carrying out right to work checks, and has particular experience of appealing civil penalties imposed where the Home Office suspects employment of illegal workers. Laura has also supported and guided a wide range of employers through the process of terminating the employment of workers whose right to work in the UK has been lost.
